Everything you need to know to draw a Dryad!

The Dryad Page Topper

The Famously Promiscuous and Free Thinking Tree Nymph of Greek Lore!

It’s summertime, my garden is hopping, and leaves on the trees are singing in the warm winds, so lets draw us a lil free wheelin’ nature spirit.

So… Dryads are wood nymphs that are connected to a particular oak tree (generally that connection is more spiritual than physical, but tevs). And nymphs are notoriously, free minded, dancy, creative and many would say amorously free. Do you need more than that?… ok fine… they’re generally depicted as nubile young maidens, but it’s 2018, so who cares… They are usually pictured with some part of a tree intertwined in their being… they aren’t immortal but they can live a looooong time… they can breed with humans and gods… ummm and I’m pretty sure they are the source of the word nymphomania…

reminder

So here we go, make us proud (but do remember the kids are watching)! If you’re smiling while you draw, you’re probably doing it right. Don’t forget to send it in and please note cause of the 4th of July holiday I’m letting this roll an extra week so you’ve got til the 6th… And you can’t win if you don’t draw!
