The Mother of All Monsters
It’s Mother’s Day next weekend, so let’s honor the mother of some of the beasts we most like to draw! So Echidna and Typhon were sorta the “Legion of Doom” to the olympian’s “Superfriends”, a brother sister pair who together birthed some of the most famed beasts of Greek lore, including but not limited to, The Lernaean Hydra, the Chimera, Cerberus, the Sphinx, the Nemean Lion and the Gorgons. You know how these stories go, eventually good triumphs over evil, but no reason to assume there weren’t some great family times betwixt all that tragedy so…..
Draw her homeschooling a 3 headed dog, draw her contemplating a different, perhaps single life, draw her eating some babies on a family picnic (for that one probably important to know that Typhon was a 100 headed dragon that never sleeps), hell draw her learning to fly a biplane, we don’t care how good it is, so long as you have fun making it and there’s something vaguely snakey in there!
Technically she has the same descriptors as a Gorgon but let’s list through em right quick just in case.
- Lower body is that of a giant snake
- Upper body of a woman
- Her hair is a mass of coiling poisonous snakes
- She’s had a lot of babies
- She’s legit married to a monster (who’s also her brother)…
That’s what you got! Get your ass doodling, have fun and don’t forget to send it in!

Seriously, this dress will make me chuckle for years! Who’d have known that I had an earthworm dress shaped hole in my heart for all these years… but for sending me on that path of self discovery! You win!
