Like Cat Dog but with Ant Loving Lizards Birthed from Gorgon Blood on Both Ends!
And back to ancient Greece we go!… least for the start of the tale (or lack of tail?)… Seems as Perseus, carried his bag full of gorgon head back to the coast to “rock” the kraken’s world… wherever a drop of sweet medusa juice dropped on the, now Libyan sands, an Amphisbaena was born.
Now the obvious question is wtf is an Amphisbaena? and why is it so hard to spell? We’ll cover the last part first, in greek, the name means “goes both ways”. As to what it is, well at it’s simplest, it’s a serpent with a head on both ends that eats ants. To describe the rest I think we’re better off just jumping into our bulleted descriptors!
- Lives in the Libyan Dessert and eats ants
- has a serpentine body with a head on both ends, some references show a head on a tail, some show two front halves stuck together in the middle
- Some say it has scaled chickeny legs and claws
- Some say it has wings… feathered, leathery, two or four…. all possible options
- Possesses piercing eyes that glow like gemstones
- wearing one assures a healthy pregnancy, or cures rheumitism, or both
- If you were to cut one in half it would magically rejoin
- Has been described to occasionally link its jaws and roll in hoop snake fashion
That’s what you got! All I ask is you don’t try too hard and have fun with it! We’ll close off submissions for judgement midnight of Friday the 5th… As always, We’ll gather the judges council and pick one to win a shirt, so get your asses doodling!
