The Mummy

Everyone’s Favorite, Bandaged, Brainless, Potpourri Stuffed and Cursed Egyptian Beast!

Well it’s Halloween week! We’ve already done pop cultures famed Great Pumpkin, the ever mysterious and hard to capture Ghost, and the all encompassing Beasts in Costumes… so time to get international with our festive Samhain draw off and test the limits of your bandaged limb drawings!

So I’m gonna skip the full on Egyptologist’s history lesson here and go with the basic halloween costume description which is as follows.

  • Generally considered important figures in life
  • Often have had brains removed to have it replaced with fragrant potpourri
  • Wrapped from head to toe in cloth bandages
  • Occasionally accessorized with a fanciful headdress, ankh tipped staff or striped groin wrap
  • Tend to repeat the same slowly groaned phrase
  • Famed for their curse. Now what that means… we’ll leave to you…

It’s a holiday week, I know folks will be busy readying costumes, spells, pumpkins and such so no judging, dont worry about being good at drawing, lets just see if we can get a hell of a lot of fun mummies or something vaguely resembling a mummy up there!

As always please send your drawings to Please submit entries to this address

And Halloween is next sat so lets just do a week so

Submissions for The Mummy will be due by midnight the evening of Friday the 30th

Yes! See I’ve always said butt jokes are funnier when the butts in question are old and dusty! Great withered bus driver style, stern grumpiness in this guy too! And welcome new guy!

Man great bouncing bandage type! I would assume if you wanted to spend a million years doing it, that could be quite the title sequence! And those are the closed set eyes of a mummy who’s been stuck under a sheet smelling his own powdery decomposition for way too long!

Silly SnowBeast! Treats are for kids! I also appreciate that your mummy wrap looks a lil like the theaters version of a civil war field dressing!

Haha! So I assume its the palette and not just a shorted synapse but something about this one reminds me of a festive fall color themed floral arrangement… I’ve always been a sucker for the way a burgundy mums compliment the lighter greens in when the sun hits em! ๐Ÿ˜‰

A very rare, non Seanist submission from Sneurat, who’s I can proudly say is running her very own workplace monster draw this week… it’s gonna be slow in coming! but eventually, not having a weekly beast draw at your work will be an oddity! Now that I really look btw that nose is a lil bit “seany”!

You know, I’m sure this is a mummy Randy (the dog) but for some reason my brain keeps seeing it as pull and peel candy… Here’s hoping you’re white mystery flavor Randy, cause if you are, you’re delicious!

Oh man I like this guy! Kinda froggy, kinda insane looking and all the while bringing with him an eye pleasing palette!

Man! the Australian youth pulling out some good creepy fun mummies this week! Such a good piercing, glowing stare, fantastic off kilter walking corpse stance and great visual anchor to tie it together with those golden feets!

Man good memory trigger here! So my 7th grade English teacher had basically every Iron Maiden “eddie” poster ever made plastered on the walls of her classroom, We all thought it was super weird then, but in hindsight I kinda love it. And for the record, I always liked Egyptian Eddie best!

“M.I.L.F!” – haha! I know you want me to say it so… Look at the aaaasp on that one! Yessss! Now mummyism aside, you did a phenomenal job on the leg wraps and I’m entertained that her toes look socked… And now I sorta want graph paper that also reminds me of the available assortment of carriage door configurations!

Hahaha I love it, and you poor Brits… It’s a tiny bit possible your use of “Mum” for the matriarchs of your families has confused a few things up there in your noggins! ๐Ÿ˜‰

So Mummy Sean or Sean from the ski lodge episode of any number of late 70’s sitcoms?… the lude’d eyes tends to lean 70s but the jean shorts scream mythical beast! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Is he emerging from a cloud of mysterious tomb dust? Or is this an artist self censoring with faux torn paper? As I’m not sure, but sorta feels like with the look of horror in those mummified peepers, he might just have been caught in a photo pantsless!

Not sure why… Maybe it’s the wraps piling up like a scarf that reminds me of the Red Baron, but, all I know is I want this discerning Eastwood eyed mummy to be a frozen pizza brand icon… that or maybe he could groaningly approve an exotic but lightly spiced hot chocolate mix… Mostly I’m saying, he could make our grocery stores better!

Such a great week for mummy butts! I’m a huge fan of your tattered wind swept bandages, good mummy androgyny and while I know it’s a snake on there, I love that the impossibly rotated headdress reminds me of our upcoming annual turkey draw!

You know I thought “Magic is Everywhere” was a Doug Henning quote but the internet says I’m wrong… But whoever said it, turning an industrial sized roll of toilet paper, a chicken wing and a couple of giant, probably priceless, rough cut rubies into this masterpiece of surreal beastiness would tend to prove the point!
