Hey Kid, Wanna See a Train?
Hailing from the Eastern Louisville area of Kentucky, this half goat, half humanoid beast is rumored to live under the 100 ft tall train trestle over Pope Lick Creek (or crik depending where you’re from). Legend has it that this beast possess hypnotic powers that he uses to lure the young and naive onto the train trestle where they inevitably find themselves trapped by an oncoming train with no where to go but to their deaths 100 feet below.
Rumored to have strength greater than a man, powerful hair covered animalistic legs, the torso of a malformed human and a head draped in long hair from which protrude short sharp horns and offer peeks at a flat, pale, aqualine face.
The origin of this beast is hotly contested. Some say he’s the result of a farmboy loving his goat too much. Some say it’s the end result of a satanic farmer who sacrificed all his flock in order to live forever. And some stick with the old circus freak escaped from his derailed train car tale. Regardless of his beginnings what is known for sure is that over the decades the Pope Lick legend has turned the bridge into a gauntlet of bravery among the the local young ‘ns and as a result there have been countless deaths and injuries.
Our Judge this week is Troy David Miller. He’s truly from Kentucky and (this part is via my buddy chris), he’s a fisherman extraordinaire, father of three, general f*cktard and all around nice fella. Judgement is posted below, in the words of our esteemed judge “There you have it, straight from a Kentucky boy. One who is frequently by the trestles, always on the lookout.”
