AKA The Indonesian Were-Horse!
Alright, my whole, “pick a scene from this myth” failed pretty hard, so we’re going back to tried and true formula: A beast with a funny name and some solid descriptors. So without further ramblings here’s what we’re working!
- Live in the darkest, thickest, scariest, most mysterious, parts of Indonesia, the Philippines and Cambodia etc
- Has the body of a skinny man but with a gruesome, long toothed, head of a horse on it’s shoulders
- Has exceedingly long limbs, such that its long bony fingers, nearly drag the ground, and when squatting, its knees stand above it’s shoulders
- Does some pretty standard trickster stuff to travelers, incredibly poor directions (down wrong paths, off cliffs etc) and I don’t see a lot of reference of them ripping victims limbs off or anything
- Some descriptions have it hairy all over, some just the head and hands, but none of em call it pretty!
- Rumor has it, they hate inside out clothing, so if you want to avoid one, wear it!
That’s what you’ve got! So get out those crayons, go to town and send that sh*t in cause we’ve been hurting for drawers lately and I’m a man with too many shirts. You’ve got til the 26th…And you can’t win if you don’t draw! So get going!
We got a new olde english bulldog pup at MBW headquarters, as he has no understanding of rules, no preconceived artistic notions, and a voracious hunger for loose papers thrown on the floor… we let him judge….and dammit he tore Sean’s to shreds! So congrats sir!
Know that even though he’s a dog, his judgement is now law and to the victor go the spoils! And don’t forget, you can always send your drawings of a Tikbalang in late, you won’t win a shirt but I’ll gladly post it for everyone’s enjoyment!
