The Kitsune Entry # 1

the Kitsune Entry # 1

Kinda funny how a vibrantly red flamelike tail also feels a lot like a giant version of on those beautiful variegated tulips… And I like that you can tell it’s magic cause those feets never touch the ground!

The Flying Reindeer Entry # 1

The Flying Reindeer Entry # 1

So obviously an illustration of the instinctive fight or flight mechanism present in most creatures and even mythical beasts… And given that horror of green goo on santa’s giant mitts I’m saying the ol’ reindeer instincts were right!

The Monopod Entry # 11

The Monopod Entry # 11

Haha so great! So I like to think of this as less of a Monopod and more of a beast bred specifically for delivering pizzas in a tree top village!

the Mongolian Death Worm Entry # 12

the Mongolian Death Worm Entry # 12

So not knowing the players personally, I am now envisioning that the similarities between 10 and this one are the natural result of a weekly Australian Mythical Beast Drawing class which i assume will be gaining quickly in popularity! I’ve always said, we’re making the world a better place, one mythical beast drawing at a time!

How the Abominable Snowman Saved Xmas Entry #17

How the Abominable Snowman Saved Xmas Entry #17

Dammit I love when you kids pull out the paints! (its the translucency of the medium that makes it most like real life you know!) Plus this is a rare cooperative effort from two of our artists and if that doesn’t say holiday spirit well then I don’t know what does!

The Fur-Bearing Trout Entry # 11

The Second Place Fur Bearing Trout Entry

Dammit those are some good eyes! And some damn fine contrasting themes here cause you’re the only one to go this truly feminine and somehow still managed to use the shape to reference the crazed masculinity of a young boys drawing of an airplane at war … very clever!

Judge’s Commentary: This is either a brilliant Picassoesque cubist exploration, or an accurate portrait of the rarest of the rare Fur Bearing Retardotrout. Initially Sweaters’ curiosity was piqued, but took off running once he realized what madness he was dealing with.

The Sewer Alligator Entry # 14

The Sewer Alligator Entry # 14

Oooh it’s possible we’ve got a contributor with a recurring case case of the late entries… but hey, if you wanna draw an alligator with a very stack of folded towel looking belly, happily eating poop, I’m not gonna stop ya…

The Splinter Cat Entry # 11

The Splinter Cat Entry # 11

So this guy came in over the deadline, but I’ll throw him in the mix with a reminder that to be considered for mugdom, get your drawings in before the Friday at midnight deadline, please… Now I’m pretty sure he’s batting at the ball of string but it’s also a nice composition if you imagine him leisurely looking at his nails while balancing on the tip of the pointiest nipple ever!…

The Dark Lord Entry # 14

The Dark Lord Entry # 14

So I’m not sure, but I think there’s a possibility this is either a cat eyed Nixon or a Hitler… but what I know is if you can imagine he’s on the bench seat driving an invisible pick up truck while smoking an invisible cigar, it get’s even better!
